Santa Ana Zoo

I was going through my pictures today and discovered that I hadn't blogged our trip to the Santa Ana Zoo a month ago on July 3, 2009. So here it is. Better late than not at all, I say.
One of Lillian's favorite places to go is the zoo. She absolutely loves animals. She was so excited that day. All she would say was "I want to go to the zoo"every time we had to do something other than walk out the front door, like eating breakfast, taking a shower and packing the diaper bag. It was so annoying, but funny at the same time.
We packed a lunch and arrived at the zoo, after picking up Grandma, around lunch time. So we headed over to the tables by the turkeys and chickens. Lillian was so fascinated by them and had a hard time eating her lunch but eventually we got her to finish. We then headed over to the train depot so she could go for a ride on the train. She always has so much fun riding the train too. Grandma went with her so that I could stay and feed Preston. Next we went to visit the horse who was eating the bushes over the fence. It was so funny to watch. We had hoped that the elephant would be there, but they are working on that area so he wasn't there. So we headed over to the Rhea and Llama section. They actually aren't Llamas but they are from the same family, so whatever.
Her other favorite section, of course, is the monkey section. Most of the monkey's weren't really out because it was too hot but some were playing around in their pens. Preston seemed to enjoy the monkeys as well, at least the ones that were active. The kids had a wonderful time and now we will be able to take them as many times as we want. I got us a membership that gives us discount to a ton of zoos here in California and in other states too. When we went to the LA Zoo we actually got in for half off, which was totally cool. It was a great deal!!

I love this picture of her. It shows her excitement and little personality. She had so much fun on the train, that she didn't even want to get off.

Lillian loved looking at the bunnies. She wanted to pet them so thankfully they were all to far away.
Lillian checking out the Rhea and Llamas. We must of stood there for 15 minutes watching them.

"Mommy, do you really have to take a picture of me?"
The Rhea strutting it's stuff in front of us. LOL
